NewMonthly report & 7 engineering report types

Your weekly engineering report, ready to send in ~5 minutes.

Enginara pulls commits, reviews, CI, and delivery progress from GitHub, GitLab, Jira, Linear, ClickUp, and Trello (plus Figma design and PagerDuty incidents) into one weekly report. The numbers are computed in the backend, the AI writes the insight, and every claim traces back to its source.

The honest math

From 6 hours by hand to 5 minutes

6 hours

building the engineering report by hand: tab-hopping, copy-pasting numbers, every week

5 minutes

with a report that writes itself in Enginara

How does that work? Follow the data.

One pipeline · four stops

Follow the data

From the tools your team already uses to a report you can actually send. This is the route your data takes through Enginara.

01 · Connect

Every signal comes from tools you already use

Eight integrations across four categories: code host, task tracker, design, and incident. Only metadata is pulled, never your source code.

GitHubCode host

Commits, pull requests, reviews, and CI status. Metadata only, never file contents.

GitLabCode host

Commits, merge requests, approvals, and pipeline status. Metadata only.

JiraTask tracker

Issues, sprints, status transitions, assignees, and labels.

FigmaDesign

File versions, comments, and contributors.

LinearTask tracker

Issues, cycles, projects, status, and assignees.

ClickUpTask tracker

Tasks, lists, sprints, status, and assignees.

TrelloTask tracker

Cards, lists, boards, and status moves.

PagerDutyIncident

Incidents, start and resolve times, and severity.

02 · Facts

The backend computes the facts: deterministic, auditable

Metrics, trends, health scores, and the DORA delivery numbers come from real events: commits, reviews, deploys, incidents. When the data is not there, the metric is marked unavailable. It never gets guessed.

facts.ledgerdeterministic
completion_rate82%+6 pts
cycle_time2.1 days-0.4 days
review_time14 hours-3 hours
deploy_frequency9x/week+2
change_failure_rate4.2%-1.1 pts
time_to_restore38 min-12 min

Illustrative numbers. In your workspace every one of them is computed from real events: commits, reviews, deploys, incidents. Not AI estimates.

03 · Narrative

Only then does the AI write the narrative

The model does not calculate and it does not invent numbers. It narrates facts that already exist, and every claim points back to its evidence.

narrative.draftevidence-linked

Review flow slowed down this week. Median review time climbed to 14 hours review_time 14h, mostly because two large PRs were waiting on the same reviewer PR #412PR #418. Deploys stayed healthy, 9 of them with no new incident deploys 9x, so the risk sits in the review queue, not in release quality. For next week: add a backup reviewer on the payment-api repo.

Sample narrative. In a real report, clicking an evidence chip jumps to the PR, deploy, or incident behind it.

04 · Report

End of the line: a report you can send

Executive summary, health scores, risks with evidence, action items. Same shape every week. Switch team tabs to see how it reads.

GitHub and Jira data is complete, but some PRs are not linked to a task yet, so the delivery read needs a lead to confirm it.

  • Blocked tasks dropped from 7 to 5.
  • Hot-issue bugfixes are down 2 tickets on the previous period.

Action items for next week

  1. Set a 24-hour review SLA for high-priority PRs.
  2. Split large PRs so review throughput picks up.
  3. Rotate reviewers on the payment and integration modules.
  4. Prioritize high-priority tasks idle for more than 5 days.

The numbers above are illustrative. A real report runs on your own workspace’s repositories and task tracker.

Why Enginara exists

“If a claim can’t be traced back to the data behind it, it doesn’t belong in the report.”

The same rule applies to our own claims. Don’t take the time-saved number above on faith. Run it with your team’s assumptions.

FAQ

Which integrations does Enginara support?
Code hosts (GitHub, GitLab), task trackers (Jira, Linear, ClickUp, Trello), design (Figma), and incidents (PagerDuty). Eight integrations across four categories. You connect over OAuth or an API key, and it usually takes a couple of minutes.
Does Enginara read our source code?
No. Enginara only reads engineering metadata: commit messages, PR titles, review events, CI status, task status, Figma versions and comments, and incident events. Source code and design file contents are never cloned or stored.
Does Enginara compute DORA metrics?
Yes, the four delivery ones. Connect deployments from your code host and incidents from PagerDuty, and Enginara computes deployment frequency, lead time, change failure rate, and MTTR from real data rather than estimates. They live on the Business Impact dashboard. Rework rate, which DORA added in 2024, is not computed yet.
Can the AI make numbers up?
No. Every number is computed deterministically in the backend. The model only writes the narrative around them: insight, likely root cause, recommendations.
What period does the weekly report cover?
The first sync pulls history back to your plan’s retention limit (90 days on Starter, longer above that). The report itself compares the last 7 days against the 7 before, so a trend shows up as movement instead of a snapshot.
What is the confidence level on a report?
It says how much the report can be trusted given how complete the underlying data was. If something is missing, the report is still generated, but confidence is marked medium or low so you read it accordingly.
Can we self-host Enginara?
Yes. Enginara runs on its own through Docker Compose, with a local AI option (Ollama) so prompts never leave your infrastructure.
Why not just build this in-house?
The dashboard is rarely the hard part. What costs you is keeping identity mapping consistent across tools, keeping risk rules stable, linking evidence to every insight, and maintaining a weekly pipeline that survives changes in how the team works.
How does pricing work?
You start on a 14-day trial with no credit card. After that there are four plans: Starter, Team, Business, and Corporate (contract). Full details are on the Pricing page.
